The Hudson's Bay Company
The Hudson's Bay Company belonged to the British. There trading posts where out around the Hudson Bay shore. Since the trading posts were build around the shore of the Bay so it was easy to find transportation routes from England to Canada. King Charles the II of England gave a monopoly to the Hudson's bay Company in 1670. The monopoly gave more land to the Hudson company to have for trading posts the through out land. They named the land Rupert's land after the first head of the company Prince Rupert.
